Old boy bounced right back to form with a bold front-running display at Perth latest, coming right away for an easy win. This is more competitive, however, and possible 3m suits better than shorter these days, but at least comes here in rude health.

Not seen out since January but has won off a break before, so that absence not an issue. Good run when beating the classy Blue Heron here last October and should have more to offer over fences this year. Conditions fine and can't be discounted.

Has lost his consistency in the past couple of years, so no certainly to follow up his win at Cartmel last time out but that was a career best effort and does at least show he's in form. More needed from 5lb higher and others preferred.

Has been running well this spring and gained due reward for some consistent efforts when winning on latest start at Perth. However, best form seems to come at 3m plus, so this drop back to a sharp 2m4f probably not ideal.

Easy winner at Haydock two starts back and was made favourite to follow up at Worcester last time, only to crash out early on. Can make mistakes in his races but a clear round should see him run his race under conditions that suit him well.

Going the right way again and took advantage of a good looking chase mark at Ffos Las latest, jumping well and coming clear in the latter stages. 7lb higher here but no saying how much more he will improve, and with yard going well, has to be taken seriously.

Has run well on all three starts for his new yard, and got his reward when winning at Bangor last time. 8lb rise still leaves him on a fair mark on old form, but may not want the ground too quick.

Forecasts

Earthmoves (3/1), Viens Chercher (7/2), Jovial Joey (4/1), Creevytennant (6/1), The Clock Leary (15/2), Crookstown (15/2), Mont Royale (11/1)

Verdict

When the sun shines then Peter Bowen invariably starts having winners and EARTHMOVES may well be another winner for the Welsh trainer. He has a good record at Market Rasen and this Ffos Las winner has every chance of following up. Creevytennant will make a bold bid from the front but may find others a bit quicker in the closing stages. Crookstown will have every chance if over his early tumble at Worcester last time. Viens Chercher may have more to offer too.
  1. Earthmoves
  2. Crookstown
  3. Creevytennant
