Placed on each of his last four starts. Beaten ½L by Rossetti when wearing blinkers for the first time at Warwick (good), before finishing fifth of seven beaten 12½L in a Stratford handicap hurdle earlier this month.
Had won at Stratford and Kempton on his last two starts and seems to go particularly well for his 7lb claimer. Looked a little fortunate last time as his main rival fell when going well.
Experienced campaigner who was having his first run for this stable when a distant third of three at Carlisle last month, finishing fourth of six, beaten 29L in a Southwell handicap hurdle over 1m7½f.
10lb lower than last win.
Fair winner on the Flat with Mark Johnston and performed with credit last month on hurdles bow at Kempton in April, before finishing third of six beaten 25L last time out Aintree.
Former 144-rated hurdle, useful during his time in Ireland with Edward O'Grady; then enjoyed a purple patch when he joined his current yard last summer. Seems to have lost his way a little in handicaps of late, including a spin on the Flat in a Wolverhampton handicap. 8lb lower than last win.
€12,000 purchase who has been off the track since making most of the running at Worcester last summer, eventually finishing fourth of nine in a Warwick maiden hurdle beaten 30L. Making handicap debut.
Put in several good performances in novice hurdles last season but hasn't looked the same force since moving to his current yard including a 36L defeat last time out in a Uttoxeter handicap hurdle in May. Last won here in October and now back on winning mark.
Winning Flat handicapper in Ireland but no show in first two hurdles outings for this yard. That said, distinct signs of improvement to finish a 5L third behind Attest in a juvenile event here in March and again in April when beaten 5¼L, beaten a head last time out in a Kempton handicap hurdle last month, yard among the winners with a double on Friday evening.
Forecasts
Our Three Sons (5/2), Spader (7/2), Sailors Warn (9/2), Kalaskadesemilley (6/1), Burning Heat (7/1), Juste Pour Nous (14/1), Ivor's Queen (16/1), Gran Maestro (20/1), Walk Waterford (33/1)
Front running tactics of Our Three Sons could have a few of these in trouble quite a way from home, tactics that have paid off with 14L and 5L wins the last twice, that has put the gelding on a career-high mark. Ivors Queen and Burning Heat will possibly follow the leader put may not be able to go the pace. This may play in to the hands of Kalaskadesemilley and SPADER who will be doing their best work at the end of the race.
