Certainly didn't set the world alight over timber, hard to hold serious ambition for this chase bow on first run for yard after leaving Elizabeth Doyle.
Modest at best over hurdles, drops in trip for this first chase outing and must defy a seven-month absence to leave a mark.

Plenty of jumping errors on chase bow at Kilbeggan just five days ago when pulled up over 2m4f (good to yielding). Will need to have learned plenty from that run.

Ran a solid race over 2m4f (yielding) at Kilbeggan on chase bow last month though not as good next time over the same trip at Down Royal (good) and so the jury remains out. Needs to improve.

Beaten 28L on chase bow over 2m at Punchestown recently, can improve for that effort but may require a bit of time adapting to this discipline.

Has yet to win in ten chase starts but second the last twice including ½L defeat at Punchestown over 2m4f (good) nine days ago and has excellent claims coming here on the strength of those efforts.

Winner over hurdles at Fairyhouse in October, he rather scuppered his chances on chase bow at Downpatrick last month (2m3f, good) when stumbling after the first and may be best forgiven that effort. Appears the type to do well in this sphere.

Dual point-to-point winner including in a four runner contest at Tyrella (yielding-to-soft) on final outing before last month rules bow at Tipperary over hurdles (2m4f, good). Needs plenty more now tacking these fences for the first time.
Had some ability over hurdles but developed something of a frustrating profile, makes chase debut with tongue strap on for first time and would hold decent claims if taking to the challenge

First run for 231 days when making chase debut at Ballinrobe nine days ago (2m3f, good) and was starting to make a move into contention when badly hampered at three out and pulled up. Worth considering on that evidence.

Didn't show enough in two chase starts late last year to merit support in this contest on first run for 176 days, should come on for the run and will need to improve to get involved.

Forecasts

Eight Till Late (5/2), Valgor Du Ronceray (5/2), Bitview Colin (5/1), Cable (7/1), Definite Income (10/1), Jack Slade (14/1), Coolbane West (16/1), Alices Man (20/1), Allduckornodinner (33/1), Baily Sunset (33/1), The Trigger (50/1)

Verdict

EIGHT TILL LATE has shown improved form in two recent runs and finished second on both occasions, he drops in trip this time around and appears to have been found a decent chance to strike. Jack Slade has potential to well in this sphere whilst Valgor Du Ronceray, often frustrating over timber, could take to this disciple and would be a threat if he did. Cable was unfortunate on his recent chase debut at Ballinrobe and is well worth a chance in what has the appearance of an open contest.
  1. Eight Till Late
  2. Cable
  3. Jack Slade
