1/1
Bumper/hurdles winner who showed some useful form over fences and has taken well to chasing showing progression on each start and winning on his first try in a handicap over fences at Ayr (2m) last time out off a mark of 127 (now rated 130) and reverts to novice company here. That was on his first start for this yard (previously with Stuart Crawford) and appeared to appreciate having the tongue tie back on. Travels well and won his bumper here although faces a tough task here if the official ratings are to be believed giving weight all round.

0/9 over fences and 0/26 overall and has a stiff task here having looked below form of late. Well backed in a handicap here last time out over 2m4f he really didn't show that much and has a very stiff task at the weights here.

7/4
Makes his chasing debut having shown some useful form over hurdles and a winner here in that sphere and finished fourth in the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr off a mark of 135. Pulled-up over hurdles last time when jumping poorly and now back in a cheekpieces and tongue tie combination that he was last successful in one the AW at Wolverhampton, Capable sort and interesting to see how he goes on chasing debut and stable are 3/7 here.

9/2
Still a maiden over fences (0/7) but a useful one nonetheless who won on the AW last time at Dundalk over 2m. Has had some stiff tasks over fences though (all runs bar one have been in Listed/Graded company) and has had to start out in handicaps off a very stiff mark (128) and probably better off in this getting weight off her two main rivals.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-5| J: Dale Irving(5)| T: R M Smith| OR:  77
33/1
Poor maiden hurdler who it's fair to say is fairly limited and only rated 77 in that sphere and that gives her a very tough task here on chasing debut.

Forecasts

Chitu (1/1), Vosne Romanee (7/4), Colla Pier (9/2), Miss Mackie (33/1), Jackofhearts (50/1)

Verdict

Only three in here with a chance and all three can be given a chance based on various pieces of form. It would have given you more confidence to see Vosne Romanee jump better over hurdles last time but the yard do have a good record here and if he runs to his hurdles mark then he potentially nicely in at the weights here. This grade at least gives Colla Pier a chance and she comes here on the back of a Flat win (well weighted) but despite giving weight away all round CHITU may well be able to follow up his Ayr win in a very tricky little contest.
  1. Chitu
  2. Colla Pier
  3. Vosne Romanee
