Off for twelve months until reappearing at Huntingdon in March, and probably not at his true level of form there or subsequently at Newton Abbot earlier this month. Races from a competitive mark if back to form with headgear tinkered with lately.

Finished one place behind Prince Khurram at Sedgefield when fourth of ten earlier this month, but unable to exploit his declining mark nevertheless. Raced over further on previous visits to this track which could be a factor in some relatively poor showings.

A three time career hurdles winner, with the last of those successes coming at Catterick on New Years Day (2m). Well beaten over further at Perth latest and others are more appealing.

Nine hurdles starts have yet to yield a win and the hood goes on for the first time in an effort to eke out some improvement. Non-runner here on Monday, and this will be just his second start for this trainer.

Career record of 0 from 15 isn't too appealing, and despite just racing three times over hurdles, can easily be overlooked for his handicap debut having been absent since December 2015.

12 race career maiden and has shown nothing over hurdles in four attempts so far. Handicap debut in tongue tie and first time blinkers.

30 race maiden but fairly consistent at a low level over the past twelve months. Should find a race somewhere eventually, but unlikely to be today with this trip looking sharp enough.

Age: 5|  Weight: 10-5| J: Callum Bewley(3)| T: C Grant| OR:  79

Another longstanding maiden who regularly fills the frame. Tends not to find that much off the bridle and campaigned at Sedgefield lately, with the long run-in unlikely to suit at this idiosyncratic track.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-1| J: Ross Turner(7)| T: Julia Brooke| OR:  75
28/1
Rated just 45 on the Flat (75 over hurdles) and hasn't seen competitive action since finishing tailed off in an AW selling handicap at Lingfield in January 2016 for David Dennis. Makes her stable debut off a lengthy break with others readily preferred.

Moving to this yard has had a revolutionary impact upon this horse, and he has enjoyed a fine winter AW campaign winning three times and finishing runner up twice in seven starts. Goes hurdling after a three month break for the first time for this trainer, and more than a fair chance he can make a mockery of his current mark.

Consistent enough at this sort of level for Tracy Waggott without being a frequent winner (1 from 36), but pulled up at Wetherby latest and has moved yards, so best watched for now.

Forecasts

Bell Weir (3/1), Beau Bay (10/3), Copt Hill (4/1), Prince Khurram (5/1), Hey Bob (7/1), Toarmandowithlove (8/1), My Renaissance (17/2), Danny O'ruairc (14/1), Snowed In (16/1), Anginola (28/1), Jewelled Prince (33/1), Docali (66/1)

Verdict

MY RENAISSANCE has proved a totally different horse since joining this trainer for a paltry fee of just £600 in August 2016. His progress on the AW has been remarkable, and he's now rated 66 on the Flat. Therefore, if translating that improvement back to hurdles, he's thrown in from a hurdles mark of just 73. A regular winner at Southwell, he has proved he can handle tough conditions, and from a handicapping perspective he would appear to have many pounds in hand of these rivals, and looks fully capable of running up a sequence this summer.
  1. My Renaissance
  2. Prince Khurram
  3. Bell Weir
