Classy handicap chaser on his day but has completely lost the plot at present, pulling up on all of his last four starts within the last year. Ridiculously well handicapped if short break has freshened him up. Trip and likely ground fine. Very risky, but not without hope if finding form.

Winner of two of his seven starts over fences, highly tried on last couple of starts and got no further than the first at Punchestown latest. Should have more to offer as a chaser, seems to handle most ground and not discounted here.

Classy handicap hurdler/chaser in his prime but looks on the downgrade now, and although not disgraced at Haydock latest start, needs to prove stamina for this trip and yard remain in poor form at present. Too much to prove.

Acts on most ground and stays very well (won over 3m4f at Taunton in March) and had an excuse when disappointing at Haydock last time, as he was found to be slightly lame. Yard form still not great, though, and on that score, others preferred.

Has come back from a year's break with two solid efforts at Newton Abbot and then a close second over this trip at Kempton, giving the impression his turn wasn't far away. May not want too much rain but that aside, holds a leading chance here.

Inconsistent but capable handicap chaser who ran well at Ascot two starts back when he would have beaten his stablemate, Loose Chips, in another couple of strides. Threw in a stinker at Haydock latest and hard to predict today.

Not seen out since October but has won after a break in the past, so absence not necessarily a worry. Concerns would be that he needs the rain to stay away and threw in a poor run on only appearance at the track. Chances off this mark, but comes with risks attached.

On a very good mark on the best of his form, but showed little for Rebecca Curtis on his last six starts (although quite highly tried). New yard, though , have an excellent record with other's castoffs first time up and with conditions fine, this may be the time to catch him.

Looked like making up into a high-class chaser at one point but progress stalled after a couple of long absences and handicapper has been slow to relent. Signs that not all was lost on latest outing at Wetherby but still a lot to take on trust,

Likes it around here (form figures 611) and won't mind however deep the ground gets (has won on heavy and good to soft). Not seen out since November but has won after a break, the issue is the trip as most of his best form is at shorter.

Forecasts

Racing Pulse (11/4), Al Alfa (4/1), In The Rough (5/1), Monetaire (15/2), Solstice Son (8/1), Kilbree Kid (8/1), Bob Tucker (9/1), Abracadabra Sivola (16/1), Aachen (25/1), Truckers Highway (25/1)

Verdict

If old Aachen ever refinds his form he'll pick a field up of this class and carry them home, so despite some dreadful looking form figures he can't be ruled out. But the interesting one here is RACING PULSE, having his first run for Richard Hobson, who has done very well with horses coming to him from other's yards and is 2-5 with them first time up (including one from Rebecca Curtis). He's another well handicapped on the best of his form and worth chancing. Solstice Son can pick up some place money along with Al Alfa.
