Backers of Oski look away now after Fergal O'Brien's horse threw away certain victory at Taunton on Wednesday.

A faller on his first start over fences last month, the eight-year-old appeared set to make amends when powering into the lead over the final fence in the novices' handicap chase, only to hang left on the run-in.
As he did so, Little Red Lion was left in front and just about hung onto it for those who had backed him into favouritism, with Broadclyst staying on for second and Oski having to settle for third.

Fergal O'Brien, Oski's trainer, appeared to take the setback in good spirits and was able to celebrate his 68th winner of the National Hunt season little over an hour later, as Gortroe Joe scored at Market Rasen.
Writing on the Thoroughbred Tales twitter account, O'Brien said, "Some days it’s just not your day!" adding later: "Thanks to Gortroe Joe and Liam (Harrison, jockey) for rescuing what had been a frustrating day so far. But that’s racing. We all have a lot more losers than winners."
