Ross O'Sullivan is targeting Baie Des Iles to be his first runner in the Randox Health Grand National at Aintree on April 14.
The County Kildare handler is preparing the seven-year-old mare for the world's greatest steeplechase after being pleased with her latest run when third in the Grand National Trial behind Folsom Blue at Punchestown recently.
"She's going for the English National. The weights came out a couple of weeks ago and she was given 10st 4lb. She had a nice prep run in Punchestown, giving 12lb away to the winner and 10lb to the second horse," said the County Kildare handler. "It's all systems go for Aintree.
"She won't run (before the National). She's had three runs and she's best fresh. She'll have a couple of racecourse gallops in between. It's fingers crossed - I'm really looking forward to it."
While it will be O'Sullivan's first attempt at the great race, his wife Katie Walsh, who has ridden Baie Des Iles in her last 10 starts, will bring some experience in the saddle.
He added: "Katie will ride her. She gets on well with her and she's got plenty of experience round the Aintree fences being third on Seabass (in 2012) and having had a few good rides in the National. It will be my first runner, but we'll have an experienced jockey."
Baie Des Iles is 66/1 (non-runner/no bet) with Sky Bet for the Aintree showpiece.
