Cheerful Chap - 13:45 Navan
Flags: Horse In Focus, Top-Rated
Cheerful Chap did well after joining Philip Rothwell from Noel Dooly last season, building on an encouraging second in a handicap hurdle at Cork to win similar events down in trip at Naas and Ballinrobe.
Cheerful Chap has been beaten off his lower chase mark on his last two starts but he has shaped like one to be interested in, notably when runner-up on his return at Clonmel where he showed up well for a long time but couldn't go with the unexposed winner from the second last.
He's 3 lb clear on Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings and his hurdling form suggests he has the scope to do better over fences.
What are the Flags?
Timeform have eight premium ‘Flags’ which quickly and simply identify a horse of interest with the help of handy graphics and symbols. Learn more about Flags here.
