Free horse racing tips for Sunday December 31

Nick Grant provides a selection for every race on Sunday, with a Godolphin runner at Lingfield his best bet.

Mystique Moon can help Charlie Appleby sign off a memorable 2017 with victory in the Play For Free At Sunbets.co.uk/Vegas Handicap at Lingfield.

The Godolphin trainer sent out countless big-race winners in the last 12 months, including Wuheida at the Breeders' Cup, as he further cemented his position among the training elite.

This Shamardal gelding won his first two starts at the turn of the year, before meeting fellow Godolphin runner Arabian Hope in a handicap at Chelmsford in April.

Appleby's charge had to give second best to the Saeed bin Suroor representative, but there was no disgrace in that, with the winner taking a Listed race next time out before finishing third to Roly Poly in the Falmouth Stakes.

Presumably something went amiss with the selection after Chelmsford, but this offers an excellent opportunity for a nice confidence booster.

Adam Kirby's first-time booking for Ojala in the 32Red.com Nursery Handicap looks a significant one by Simon Dow.

The two-year-old got off the mark at Salisbury in September, making all to win a six-runner handicap, form not totally let down by his most immediate victim that day, Zalshah, who was not beaten far when third at this track on Thursday.

Kirby can also be among the winners in division one of the Betway Sprint Handicap courtesy of the Gary Moore-trained Pride Of Angels.

The four-year-old filly is on the sort of mark from which she can be competitive, and the indications are this might be the time to catch her.

Enigmatic is interesting returning to a mile in the Play Jackpot Games At sunbets.co.uk/vegas Handicap.

The three-year-old has done well since a gelding operation in the spring, winning two from three before finding 10 furlongs a stretch at Chelmsford. He was keen that day, too, so put a line through that effort.

It might be worth keeping the faith with Furzig in the 32Red Casino Novice Median Auction Stakes.

Richard Fahey's youngster shaped as though he would win a race when beaten half a length into third first time out at Newcastle last month, but did not build on that next time out back at the Gosforth Park track.

He steps up a furlong in distance and hopefully that will work the oracle.

Juge Et Parti can make it third time lucky over jumps in the Sunbets Maiden Hurdle at Uttoxeter.

The grey son of Martaline was seriously impressive on his racecourse debut in a Bangor bumper last spring and was far from disgraced on his hurdling bow at Ffos Las last month, bumping into a very useful performer in Mulcahys Hill.

It was a shade disappointing he was unable to make the most of what looked a gilt-edged opportunity on his return to the Welsh circuit a couple of weeks later, but there is every chance his conqueror Noble Robin is above average and Juge Et Parti is given one more chance in what looks a moderate affair.

Cave Top has obvious claims in the Actionclad Handicap Hurdle.

Oliver Greenall's charge won with plenty to spare over the course and distance little over a month ago and a 6lb hike looks more than fair.

Punchestown sees out the year in Ireland, where it is great to see the high-class Killultagh Vic back on track in the Free Festival Upgrade Ticket Offer Hurdle.

The Cheltenham Festival-winning eight-year-old will be bidding to overcome an absence of 714 days, having last been seen winning a Grade Two chase at Leopardstown in January last year.
