The emphasis is on the fillies at Doncaster on Thursday but the Zebedee colt GLASVEGAS could take the biggest prize on offer in the Weatherbys Racing Bank £300,000 Stakes.

This sales-based contest for horses sold for not more than £62,000 has attracted some useful juveniles but the Keith Dalgleish-trained colt is well-in on official ratings receiving weight from all bar one of his 21 rivals.

Glasvegas hasn’t been seen since his eyecatching third behind Aidan O’Brien’s Southern Hills in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot in June and, while the winner has also been absent, the runner-up Platinum Star has strongly boosted the form.

Outpaced over two furlongs out that day, the selection was finishing strongly in the closing stages suggesting this longer trip (he is out of a Singspiel mare) is much needed.

Glasvegas had previously looked a useful prospect when leading late on over the stiff five at Hamilton and, providing he returns in the same form after the break (Dalgleish is still firing in plenty of winners), a big run can be expected on these terms.

O’Brien’s Harpocrates is the highest rated runner on 105 (but concedes the 99-rated selection 10lb) after being worn down close home by Valdermoro in the Acomb Stakes at York when blinkered for the first time.

Earlier, STYLISTIQUE looks a worthy market leader in the British Stallion Studs EBF Carrie Red Fillies Nursery Handicap.

Roger Varian’s daughter of Dansili takes a drop in class after finishing fourth in the Group Three Prestige Stakes at Goodwood (7f) last month, beaten less than two lengths behind the May Hill Stakes-bound Boomer with subsequent Salisbury winner Dark Lady in second and Alpinista, not beaten far at Longchamp last Sunday, back in sixth.

Stylistique was kicked into the lead fully two furlongs out that day and this slightly shorter trip looks a plus allied to a possible class edge albeit under top weight.
