MRS BOUQUET, the winner of four of her six starts as a two-year-old, is fancied to pick up where she left off in the Coral/British EBF Cathedral Stakes at Goodwood on Sunday.
Mark Johnston's filly delivered her best performance in a conditions event on this course over five furlongs at the Festival meeting last July and, having earlier won over six furlongs at Catterick, the manner of her victory here suggests this extra furlong could be ideal as, after a stirring battle with the runner-up Mighty Spirit, she forged clear well inside the final furlong.
A well-related and scopey daughter of Toronado, Mrs Bouquet can take advantage of her sex allowance and should be given a good lead by the recent front-running Newmarket winner Bungee Jump.
The clear danger on official ratings is Richard Hannon's now-gelded Moyassar who won a handicap at Newmarket over this trip last May in good style. However, he was well beaten in three other starts and looks a risky proposition.
At Doncaster, COWBOY SOLDIER can out-run his odds in the Betway Handicap.
Sent north by in-form Newmarket sprint specialist Robert Cowell, this five-year-old doesn't tend to stand much racing but has plenty of ability as he showed first time out last season when overcoming a wide draw at Kempton to beat Puds (now 6lb higher) in decisive fashion.
Cowboy Soldier wasn't quite so good next time, though not disgraced, when sixth behind Copper Knight in a hot handicap at York and then went missing after a poor run at Chelmsford.
Expect Cowell to have him fit and raring to go as he has always run well fresh and, still lightly raced, there is further improvement to come.
Next up is the Betway Achilles Stakes in which LADY IN FRANCE is an interesting contender.
This daughter of Showcasing made her debut as a three-year-old last May and immediately looked well-above average, winning at Newcastle from the now smart Moss Gill before finishing second to Maid Of India in this race at Haydock on heavy ground.
Not disgraced in a listed event at Maisons-Laffitte behind the progressive Shades Of Blue next time, she then beat 15 others at Ayr before finding six furlongs in testing conditions beyond her back in France on her final start.
So Lady In France has quite an impressive record from just a few starts and, while up against some hardened older sprinters here, she is not far off a big chance on official ratings taking into account her fillies allowance.
GRACE AND DANGER is another filly who could prosper in the Betway Grand Cup.
This could be a nice bit of placing by trainer Andrew Balding as the trip on this galloping course should be ideal for the daughter of Teofilo who clashed with the likes of Mehdaayih, Manuela De Vega and Sextant last season.
The key to Grace And Danger's chance here is that all her rivals have questions to answer: the likely market leaders King's Advice and Red Verdon have both performed moderately on their latest starts while the other two serious players on official ratings, Euchen Glen and Glencadam Glory, return from long absences.
So this may not be the toughest listed race to win and her 5lb allowance gives Grace And Danger every chance.
Later on, TIME VOYAGE could have a fitness advantage in the second division of the Read Andrew Balding On Betway Insider Handicap having shaped well when fourth to Guipure at Newcastle ten days ago.
That form might be okay as the winner is improving with every start and runner-up Bavardages was beaten narrowly subsequently by the potentially useful Roger Charlton-trained Amir Kabir at Wolverhampton.
Providing she is not inconvenienced by this first outing on turf, Time Voyage looks likely to be suited by this galloping mile and must go close with that run under her belt against rivals who are all returning after the enforced break.
Finally, at Newmarket, ESPRIT DE BAILEYS is another who could come on for a recent run in the Racing Welfare Supporting The Racing Community Handicap.
Just ten days ago, the eight-year-old made a bold show on the pace in a similar event over a mile and a quarter on this course eventually keeping on at one pace in sixth behind Inclyne and the subsequent winner Involved.
That was a pleasing comeback as Esprit De Baileys would have found that trip on the sharp side and, with Silvestre De Sousa now booked by in-form trainer Amy Murphy to get the fractions right, he could take some pegging back.
