SANDOWN'S Betway Solario Stakes has showcased star performers such as Kingman, Too Darn Hot, Masar and Kameko in recent seasons, and DUBAI FOUNTAIN has solid credentials in Sunday's renewal.
Mark Johnston's filly sets the standard in a possibly below-average field this time with an official rating of 99 and, after successes at Doncaster and Haydock (good to soft), she has been collared late on by Fev Rover (a Group Two winner at Deauville yesterday) over this course and distance, and then by Star Of Emaraaty in the Group Three Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket.
Like so many of her trainer's horses, Dubai Fountain seems tremendously genuine and looks guaranteed to make whatever beats her work very hard indeed.
Several of the selection's rivals have plenty of potential including stable companion Forever Grateful who lost out in a tight finish at Doncaster first time out, but Etonian is likely to corner the market after a fluent first-time-out win over this course and distance despite being unfancied in the market.
That form is untested but the son of Olympic Glory was well on top at the finish.
Earlier, HYANNA can continue her decent course record in the Betway Handicap.
The five-year-old mare has been a fine servant to Eve Johnson Houghton's team and, beaten a short head and a nose over this course and distance last July, she then showed plenty of determination to beat the useful Migration and Solid Stone on a return visit in late August.
Hyanna won in a small field at Windsor first time out this season and, most recently, ran a blinder at Ascot (12f) where she just failed to catch the progressive Look Closely who was winning for the second time on the Berkshire course.
Admittedly, she now has to defy a career-high mark but the drop back to a mile and a quarter with cut in the ground should suit her well and she continues to improve steadily.
Earlier, SAAHEQ is handicapped to run well in the Heed Your Hunch At Betway Handicap on the stiff five-furlong course.
The six-year-old ran his best race of the season at Kempton (6f) last time albeit no match for the promising May Sonic, and has won and finished a very good fourth on two previous course visits.
After chasing up Justanotherbottle, Tinto and Embour here last August on faster ground than is probably ideal, Saaheq continued to run well off higher marks than his current rating of 84 and looks ready to go close back at Sandown with some cut underfoot.
