Punters’ patience may be starting to run a little thin with GINCIDENT now, but he gets a good set-up again here and in the hope that Jack Garrity decides to challenge up the middle/nearside on him, which is often the best tactic around here, we’re more than happy to keep the faith.
He looked sure to win a race this winter when third at Newcastle on his reappearance in October after the summer off, and his subsequent lesser effort at Doncaster on soft ground is easy enough to forgive.
I thought he’d run a better race here last time out but his pilot decided to challenge on the far side of the group, nearest the far rail, whilst the action was all developing to his right.
He still ran a solid enough race to finish fifth, and he’s now 5lb lower than when beaten a neck over C&D here in March. This is a slight drop in grade for him too, and he can go close if the race pans out a bit better for him.
