ANOTHER MILLION looks an interesting contender in the Trustatrader Handicap Chase at Wincanton. A beginners chase winner in Ireland for previous connections, he made a promising debut for his new yard when fourth at Warwick in October and he's been given a nice break since falling two out in a race won by King Turgeon at Chepstow when last seen. Eased a pound in the weights following that, he's also down in trip which could help and he should go well from a prominent early position around here.
BRIDGETJOANS - 2.30 Catterick
BRIDGETJOANS is likely going to be a juicy price having barely threatened in three starts so far this season but the assessor has been quite quick to drop the mare 10lb in the ratings and, based on last season's placed form which included a second over this course and distance in February, she must have some sort of squeak. Interestingly, the first-time visor appeared to spark a positive reaction last time she visited Catterick and connections are reaching for cheekpieces today which may help perk the mare up again. Two miles was clearly too short for her at Hexham and a bit better can be expected here so she's worth a small each-way interest.
LAHAB - 5.30 Newcastle
LAHAB doesn't exactly arrive in sparkling form but he's been given a proper chance by the handicapper again and looks worth a roll of the dice at likely odds. He hasn't won yet since switching to Michael Wigham but caught the eye with a good run from off the pace when fourth (of 14) behind Tolstoy over a mile here in August. He's 7lb lower in the weights now and, often a touch slow from the gates, should be ideally suited by the forecast strong pace in this field, something that hasn't really materialised on his two recent course and distance outings.
