Jonjo & AJ O’Neill’s horse has been running well over shorter distances, particularly when he tackled the stiff 2m1f at Carlisle, but he’s bred for further and this trip should unlock improvement.
GUY – 3.55 Newton Abbot
Uninspiring stuff at Newton Abbot but the 11-year-old GUY is interesting enough dropping in class to the worst race he has contested in forever. Up in trip with the cheekpieces discarded, he could bounce back in this company. He came good last spring over 2m1f over fences, but kept to similar distances he has become well treated and he has no problem staying three miles.
SEA LEGEND – 5.00 Newcastle
Jim Goldie’s runners on the all-weather have been in fine fettle and he’s picked up a well-handicapped horse in SEA LEGEND from Donald McCain’s. A winner of a course and distance handicap from a 2lb higher mark, it would be no surprise if he can hit the ground running for his new yard despite never firing in his brief stint at McCain’s.

DISCLOSURE can quickly bounce back from Southwell disappointment in the Weekly Free Bets With BetMGM Extra Fillies' Handicap at Lingfield on Thursday. James Owen’s filly ran on Tuesday but had no chance kept wide from a wide draw and Hector Crouch let her coast home. She’s drawn wide again here but can easily slot in with the bend coming quickly and on her form over a mile here on April 1 she’s got a good chance. Owen is 17 from 57 at 29.82% when his horses back up within a week on the all-weather for a small profit.
