SILENT MOVE - 2.05 Musselburgh (NAP)
He hasn’t been seen since disappointing at Haydock in May but that was a red-hot contest and SILENT MOVE is in calmer waters on Wednesday.
It’s interesting that the Richard Fahey team retained him when he went to the sales in the summer and he’s 5lb higher than when winning a better race than this at the Newton-Le-Willows track in the spring. He will be hard to peg back with the forecast uncontested lead.
AVALON - 1.13 Nottingham
She’s bred to be useful and AVALON is fancied to take a step forward now switched to handicaps.
Ed Walker’s charge was hampered early and never a factor on her qualifying run at Kempton but arrives here fresh and an opening mark of 63 gives her every chance.
AFTER MANY DAYS - 2.55 Chepstow
The handicapper is starting to relent with AFTER MANY DAYS and she might be able to take advantage at Chepstow.
Henry Daly’s charge shaped as if needing her return when fifth at Warwick last time, unsuited by a slow pace too. A stronger gallop is forecast on Wednesday, she’s down a further 3lb in the weights, and looks potentially well treated on the pick of her novice hurdle form.
UMBRIA - 6.30 Kempton
She bombed out when seemingly all-at-sea on the soft ground at Yarmouth last time and UMBRIA is well worth another chance returned to an artificial surface.
She ran her best race over this course-and-distance when touched off by Alacrity and Carpathian in August, unlucky having been briefly hampered inside the final furlong. She’s a big player if operating at that level again.
