The lightly-raced FELICIE DU MAQUIS was well held on her only previous start over fences in November 2023 but, after missing over a year, she's evidently been brought back to full fitness and won nicely enough in a handicap hurdle for mares at Ludlow last month. The fact she ran twice in February and is back out again on Tuesday suggests connections have her in a good spot physically and I'd expect her to kick on now switched back to fences.

TACTICAL AFFAIR - 5.02 Exeter

Not many runners on the card at Exeter but I like the look of TACTICAL AFFAIR in the two and a half miles handicap chase. His form hasn't improved much since moving from Gordon Elliott to Warren Greatrex but the six-year-old still has time on his side and showed definite improvement from his chasing debut run at Lingfield to the most recent effort at Fontwell back in December. Having worn a tongue-tie in the past and undergone wind surgery, he's possibly been kept fresh for a spring campaign and he won't get many better chances after being dropped in the weights to a career-low mark of 108 (was 127 after the stable switch).

MARINER - 7.30 Wolverhampton

George Wood seems to get a good tune out of MARINER and while nudged up 4lb for his head success over the reopposing Charlatan over course and distance here last month, the revised rating of 64 certainly isn't out of his range given he was running quite well off marks in the low-70s around this time last year. He's only had the three starts in cheekpieces (retained) and he should get a decent sit from stall six, with likely front-runner Claxton Bay just on his inside in gate two.
