SHANTWOPOINTFIVE – 3.37 Chepstow (NAP)

This looks a very competitive qualifier, with the likes of Pawapuri - who is starting out under ideal conditions for her new yard – very much respected, but SHANTWOPOINTFIVE looks the one to beat under Sean Bowen who has a 46% strike-rate on hurdling favourites.

She won her only start in Irish points and has continued that theme under Rules, landing a maiden at Cartmel in May and handicap at Southwell (by 5 lengths from Bobby Socks) in February. She stuck to her task well when 2½ lengths second to Ascending Lark over an inadequate trip at Exeter last time and will be suited by a return to 2½m here.

She should get a good tow into the race from Love Of Neymore and Dromlac Jury, and is up to defying this BHA mark of 114.

JOINING FORCE – 2.22 Market Rasen

JOINING FORCE, who was a runner-up on the second of his two starts in Irish points, promises to relish this step up in trip having been handled considerately over two miles last time.

His yard is enduring a poor season but has a good record at Market Rasen and with the scope to do better over hurdles given the promise of his bumper run, Joining Force looks the answer to what is a weak race.

Ascot third Groovy Blue and Mikimoto - who is one of two runners for an in-form yard and tries a visor in a bid to get to his form of December 2023 - have achieved the most of these over obstacles and look the main threats.
