Racing tip of the day Tuesday March 21

A switch to handicap company and a galloping track will hopefully inspire Ian Ogg's tip of the day to greater deeds at Wetherby.

1pt win Sigurd in 3.25 Wetherby at 11/2

The Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Handicap Chase is a good, competitive contest where they are betting 5/1 the field.

There has been a little early support for Gold Ingot from the in-form Caroline Bailey yard who has been off since August but finished a good second in last year's renewal of this race from a similar mark.

He could clearly go well while Powerful Symbol looks a riskier proposition with a tongue tie added to cheekpieces but he is unexposed and represents top connections.

Trainer Jonjo O'Neill has a decent record at Wetherby but he has fared significantly better with his hurdlers (13 from 53) than with his chasers (4 from 33).

In the preceding racinguk.com Handicap Hurdle, Sigurd makes his handicap debut on the back of an encouraging run at Catterick behind Sky Bet Supreme ninth High Bridge and Top Tug.

He showed ability behind some more useful sorts at Taunton prior to that and has shaped on both occasions as though he would appreciate a more galloping track such as Wetherby.

He doesn't look overburdened for his handicap debut and may be able to find the necessary improvement to open his account.
