At Kempton, all eyes will be trained on Altior and his possible successor Shishkin who will both start at short odds for the Desert Orchid and Wayward Lad Chases respectively whereas a good price is assured in some competitive handicaps.

In the Play Ladbrokes 5-A-Side On Football Mares' Handicap Hurdle, MIDNIGHTREFLECTION can continue her good form recently over this trip of three miles.

The daughter of Midnight Legend had a straightforward task at Plumpton last time and won easily while her previous second to the much improved Robin Gold at Ascot was a career best.

Whereas some of her rivals are not guaranteed to stay or may not enjoy any softening in the ground if the forecasted storms change conditions, Midnight Reflection looks likely to benefit most if this becomes a slog with Jack Tudor (taking off 3lb) in the saddle.

Later on, ADRIEN DU PONT is weighted to go very close in the Ladbrokes Committed To Safer Gambling Handicap Chase in a race he won two years ago off a 2lb higher mark at the expense of last year's winner Just A Sting.

Raised 7lb for that success to a mark of 151, Harry Cobden's mount again showed his liking for this course when taking third behind Walt next time and, after a very light campaign in 2019/20, returned looking in great shape at Ascot where he had every chance before weakening up the home straight as if needing the run behind Regal Encore.

While Adrien Du Pont is not always the easiest to win with as he is best held up for a late, well-timed run, he looks interesting off just 142 on a course which clearly suits him well, and there should be some improvement following that comeback run.
