Que Amoro - Michael Dods

She’s a really quick, talented filly who Michael does so well with. I won on her at York when she bolted up, winning by seven lengths. She really likes York as she won for Phil Dennis in the apprentice race at the Ebor meeting again, showing bags of speed. Her final run of the season was at Ayr where she finished second. I was really pleased with her that day as she showed both speed and guts. I think she’ll hopefully improve again and could be really exciting.

Lahore - Phil Makin

He’s a really solid, talented handicapper who I’m sure will win a decent prize this season. Last year he won nicely at Ripon before a good second at Thirsk behind the talented Bielsa. I think arguably his best piece of form last year was a 5th at York in a really competitive handicap, where he didn’t get the clearest of runs. He’s rated in the high 90’s but I still think it’s a winnable mark.

Fortamour - Ben Haslam

I like this horse. He improved through the year and won nicely in January at Newcastle. He’s a big strong horse, whose mark of 80 looks workable. He clearly enjoys Newcastle and it will be interesting to see how he goes on the turf.

River Icon -Iain Jardine

She’s a really strong stayer who ran well for me at both York and Doncaster. She really enjoys the softer ground and I think the long distance handicaps will be right up her street. Her current mark is workable and I’m looking forward to teaming up with her again.

Troubadour - Michael Dods

He had a great season last year. I won on him three times and was second twice. I was particularly pleased with his last run where we were second in the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy to a good horse of Richard Fahey’s. He’s rated over a 100 so things might be tougher this year. I’m very much looking forward to him though as I think he has a very promising future.
