Timeform's US Racing expert Jake Price is back with his tips for tonight's stateside action.

Two selections for today’s US action with both coming at opposite ends of the country and of the racing schedule. Without further ado, let’s sink our teeth into matters.

The opener at Gulfstream is a maiden claimer on the sod over one mile and one sixteenth and currently sees Mark Casse’s Sugar Buzz as the well-fancied chalk. However, he’s had a few tries to earn his diploma already, so I fancy taking him on with the unexposed ROYCES RIDE.

Royces Ride had some solid workouts prior to his debut at the Florida track at the beginning of the month. There he broke sharply and got to the lead, only relinquishing his advantage with around an eighth of a mile to run before fading into fifth, though not beaten far.

A couple who finished ahead of him reoppose in this spot but with that experience behind him he’s expected to see out his race better this time. His trainer Brian Lynch is also having a fine Championship Meet.

The last at Santa Anita is a turf maiden special weight over one mile and MUSCLED looks overpriced in the market.

Muscled has race four times and his last two runs have him as the one to beat in my book. His last out speedfigure certainly gives him the edge.

He’s hit the board on his last three outings and only failed by a length when second to Scipio on his first run at this track last month. He’s had some recent works and Umberto Rispoli takes the reins again.

Rain is forecast in the area and so it may be that the race is switched to the main track. It may be worth holding out until knowing for sure as to the conditions before placing any wager.
