Martin Dwyer: Five to Follow for the 2020 Flat season

Jockey Martin Dwyer gives Oli Bell his five horses to follow including a well-handicapped three-year-old from the Brian Meehan yard.

ARTHURIAN FABLE (Brian Meehan)

He's a really nice three-year-old colt by Sea The Stars. He ran three times last year, was second at Newmarket and then finished third to a really nice one of Richard Hughes' called Brentford Hope who looked like a Group One horse the way he came past us.

Arthurian Fable has improved and looks quite lowly handicapped off a mark of 81 so hopefully there are plenty of races in him.

FINAL OPTION (William Muir)

She's a nice filly by Lethal Force. She won impressively on debut at Ripon last year and then ran fourth in the Dick Poole at Salisbury. She went very weak and only ran a further twice but has improved and looks a lot stronger as a three-year-old.

She could be a horse to follow once racing gets going again.

MOHAATHER (Marcus Tregoning)

I won the Horris Hill on him as a two-year-old and he went on to win the Greenham, looking like a Guineas horse. He was among the favourites there but suffered an injury and was out for nearly the whole season. He came back with a good comeback run at Ascot, finishing an unlucky fifth.

He's over his injury now and I know Marcus is very keen on him, I'm really looking forward to seeing him back.

PYLEDRIVER (William Muir)

He's a lightly-raced colt, running four times last year and winning twice. He won a Listed race at Haydock, is rated 103 and has strengthened up a lot from last year.

He's working really well and looks a good prospect.

SPIRIT OF APPIN (Brian Meehan)

She's a five-year-old mare but she's improved and got better with age, winning a Group Three fillies' and mares' race at Newmarket last year. She was going to run in the Geoffrey Freer but I'm looking forward to riding her as she's just getting better and better.

She's a strong stayer at a mile and a half, a mile and six, and the family seem to get better with age.
