Check out our race-by-race verdicts and nap selection for Sunday's action from Sha Tin.
05.30 (All times BST, live on Sky Sports Racing): SMILING FACE started a short-priced favourite on his debut in a newcomers race here three weeks ago. He was prominent throughout and though readily outpaced by the winner kept on well enough. Chancheng Prince was less than a length behind in third after holding every chance while Sea Monarch was always prominent but couldn't quicken. Like That led for a long way but weakened when headed inside the final furlong. Super Ten is by Ocean Park, whose son Kolding is a Group 1 winner in Australia.
06.00: DEMONS ROCK, who completed a four-timer for Tom Dascombe in 2017, has never won in Hong Kong but has dropped in the ratings recently and has been going well. This will be only his second start on Dirt but he won't get many better chances. Grand Harbour, three times a winner on Dirt, has been badly out of form on Turf but has dropped to this lowly grade and with Alfred Chan's claim to help can get involved. Fairy Floss is also a maiden but Jimmy Ting's grey was narrowly beaten over the track and trip last month before a poor run on Turf. He holds Exponents on the former run and will take some catching with his usual fast break.
06.30: A very poor turnout for a lucrative prize. HELENE LEADINGSTAR, who won the Group 1 South Australia Derby before arriving here, took a while to warm up but has completed a double in strong handicaps in recent weeks. He's won over the trip and had Helene Charisma just over a length back in third in a 1m2f handicap early last month. Savvy Nine and Chefano were both behind in the former event and look held as does Eagle Way, who was well beaten. The latter has a Group 2 victory to his credit but that was back in 2018 and though he hasn't won since he ran surprisingly well in last week's QEII Cup.
07.00: Split Of A Second has a long absence and a wide draw to contend with so will do well to get into the picture. FABULOUS EIGHT has only run six times, all on the track, and has returned from a very long break in good form. His close third behind Trust Me a month ago would probably be good enough and Joao Moreira rides. Zac Purton is on board Kinda Cool and the newcomer woudn't need to be a world-beater to make a successful start while Here Comes Ted wasn't too far behind the selection last time while Dublin Star's supporters will be looking for compensation after well supported placed efforts.
07.30: The three-year-olds Pianillo and Lumen Baba both won last time, the former in Australia and the latter for Ger Lyons at the Curragh on his debut. Both are well drawn but have long absences to overcome. Beauty Loyal battled to a narrow victory over 7f in February but has struggled from his higher mark and Moreira, who rode him that day, is on board AMAZING KNIGHT. The winner of his first two races at Windsor and Newbury for William Haggas, the current leading rider was on board when he made a satisfactory debut at Happy Valley a couple of weeks ago and will find this track much more to his liking. Happy Alumni landed a lower grade race in February but has continued to perform with credit at this level while Happy Time has defied huge odds in his last two starts to finish in the money.
08.00: Goldie Flanker defied trouble in-running to catch long-time leader Excel Delight close home over the track and trip last month. The latter, who started odds-on, will probably be supported again but there seems no obvious reason for a form reversal. DOLLAR REWARD (NAP) has been outclassed the last twice but looks the one to beat on his previous start when narrowly beaten by Excel Delight, who was receiving 17lb. Now 11lb better off, the top-weight has an outstanding chance on that form. Supreme Patrol, who had every chance in third in the former race, is 0-20 while sixth-placed Joyful Moments is on a very long losing run. Striking Mr C scored at this level in December and defied an 11lb rise to win again in February but has gone up another 10lb.
08.35: Little General is still a maiden after 15 starts but was very well supported when last seen here in February only to disappoint. He would have an obvious chance on his previous close second to Diamond Legend. Enjoy Life hasn't won for almost a year but bounced back to form when beaten a neck at this level last month and is greatly respected. He had King Dragon behind and should confirm the form but GALACTIC was having only his second start when making most of the running until fading close home over 7f last month. He should now be at his peak and going an extra furlong shouldn't be a problem.
09.05: Defining Moment is on a hat-trick and the form of his latest victory over Enjoy Life could be given a boost in the previous race. However, he was well behind LONDON HALL in February and the latter very nearly completed a hat-trick last time when only run out of it close home tackling an extra furlong. Enzemble had been going well before staying on strongly over 1m1f last time and the longer trip won't be a concern while Clement Legend, who scored over 1m3f at Happy Valley on Boxing Day, is gradually dropping back to a winnable mark.
09.35: Moreira rides the lightweight and very consistent Winwin Thirtythree but the outside berth looks too much to overcome. Diamond King has a nice inside berth and though on a very long losing run he's now on a tempting mark. GOLDEN FOUR is a hold-up horse so will need the breaks on the inside, which came for him when scoring over the track and trip in January. He's a consistent performer at this level and hopefully Neil Callan will get the breaks on him. Care Free Prince made all for a battling victory under Victor Wong in March though a 6lb rise makes this more difficult but Alfred Chan's claim more than offsets the 5lb rise Lasting Friendship earned for last month's victory over a mile at Happy Valley. The progressive Party Genius should also go well under Purton.
10.10: Just Not Listening couldn't quite peg back Mega Heart a fortnight ago, with Utopia Life very close up in third. He had earlier finished 3 lengths behind the latter so there's very little between them here. Zero Hedge was always in the firing line in the former race but couldn't quicken but ELITE PATCH, who finished fifth, was staying on strongly after being outpaced in the early stages. The latter has been dropped 2lb and with an inside berth could be good enough to gain his third victory over track and trip. Flying Sword is still a maiden after ten starts but has moved to Tony Cruz and could be on a nice mark while Explosive Witness has been going well on Turf and tackles this surface for the first time.
10.45: More than half of this field are course and distance winners including JUNEAU PARK. John Size's charge completed a double under Moreira in slightly lower grade in March and was by no means disgraced when stepping up to this level a fortnight ago. Everyone's Joy won his first two starts on the track last spring and returned to winning ways here a month ago, coming with a strong burst to win going away. A 5lb rise takes him to his highest ever mark but he can still get competitive from stall 2. Fun Legend, a winner at Longchamp in September, has a long absence and an outside berth to contend with while Beauty Spirit is on a long losing run though is 7lb lower than his last winning mark as a consequence. Guy Dragon didn't enjoy the very fast conditions last time after two narrow defeats over the track and trip.
