We have another each-way Lucky 15 for Friday's quality action at the Cheltenham Festival, featuring the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup.
What is a Lucky 15?
It’s one of those phrases you’re likely to hear during the Cheltenham Festival, so we thought it would be a good idea to explain exactly what a Lucky 15 means and how easy it is to place such a bet.
In short, the Lucky 15 is an acca including four elements, although all four bets don’t have to win to produce a profit/return. The selections are combined into one four-fold accumulator, trebles, doubles and individual singles.
So, the Lucky 15 can be summed up as follows: 1 accumulator, 4 trebles, 6 double, 4 singles = 15 bets
An each-way Lucky 15, as advised below, is therefore 30 bets, and you will get a return of some kind if only one horse places.
FRIDAY TIPS
SHARJAH – 2.10 Cheltenham
Willie Mullins has won the County Hurdle with classy top-weights in the past and Sharjah ticks plenty of the right boxes as he’ll relish a strongly-run handicap scenario and isn’t badly treated at all based on anything like his best form. He can defy the welter burden under a patient Patrick Mullins.
SANDOR CLEGANE – 2.50 Cheltenham
Sandor Clegane has looked an Albert Bartlett type of horse from the day he broke his maiden and the latest third in Grade 1 company at the Dublin Racing Festival probably wants marking up as the ground was plenty quick enough for him. He’ll love the soft conditions and should go very well under Sean O’Keeffe.
NOBLE YEATS – 3.30 Cheltenham
He’s taken a particularly unusual route to the Cheltenham Gold Cup but last year’s Grand National hero Noble Yeats looks bound to run well for trainer Emmet Mullins. He doesn’t possess the raw class of a rival like Galopin Des Champs but he’ll stay the trip well, is still seemingly improving and should have his ideal ground conditions too. He’ll be ridden quietly and can pick up some of the pieces late on.
IMAGINE – 5.30 Cheltenham
Gordon Elliott loves plotting horses up for the Festival finale and image looks the main hope this time around. He’s caught the eye finishing well in nice races at Gowran Park and Navan around the turn of the year and could be exceptionally well handicapped now granted a stiffer test of stamina.
How to place a Lucky 15 bet
It is very simple to place a Lucky 15 with Sky Bet. All you have to do is add each selection to your bet slip, click ‘Show all multiples’ under the ‘Multiples’ tab at the top of ‘My Bet Slip’, then input your stake under ‘Lucky 15’.
Remember, the bet will cost 15x your individual stake, so for example a 20p each-way Lucky 15 will amount to a £6.00 stake. A £2 win Lucky 15 will cost £30 in total.
