Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile report: Knicks Go dominates at Keeneland

Knicks Go delivered trainer Brad Cox a third winner of the meeting when blitzing his rivals in the Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile at Keeneland.

In another race run at a breakneck gallop, Knicks Go (15/8 favourite) was immediately sent to the lead by jockey Joel Rosario and despite having company throughout - namely from market rival Complexity - the four-year-old kept pouring it on and eventually ran out a handsome winner.

As expected, the early competition for the lead was fierce, but Knicks Go had the speed to win that battle and though Complexity was well-positioned throughout in second, he had already cried enough as they turned for home and eventually faded into fourth.

All the while, Knicks Go continued to give generously for Rosario's urgings as outsider Jesus'Team and Sharp Samurai made modest late gains to fill the places.

For Cox, victory followed Aunt Pearl's demolition job in the Juvenile Fillies Turf and Essential Quality's triumph in the Juvenile on Future Stars Friday.

He said: "He's very fast and he loves Keeneland as well. Joel did a fantastic job. They went very quick but he was able to keep going and the short stretch here was in his favour.

"We had a setback after his first win but he's a very aggressive horse, he loves to train. He can be very strong but he's a fast horse and very good around two turns."
