Irish racing tips: Fran Berry best bets for Tipperary

Fran Berry looks ahead to the action from Tipperary this afternoon with a couple of each-way bets on the card.

Racing betting tips: Sunday October 1

1pt e.w. Save Your Love in 2.10 Tipperary at 10/1 (General 1/5 1,2,3,4)

1pt e.w. Insinuendo in 2.40 Tipperary at 11/2 (Sky Bet 1/5 1,2,3,4)

We've had a lot of rain in the past 24 hours and it will be testing ground at Tipperary, particularly on the Flat track.

The second race is a competitive handicap over nine furlongs and a lot of these horses at the top of the market have been busy in recent week.

SAVE YOUR LOVE for Johnny Murtagh is very interesting on his return to action.

He was just beaten by Drumroll at Navan on heavy at the start of the season and, after winning his maiden at Gowran Park, he went on to contest some decent handicaps along the way and claimed a win at Leopardstown in July, doing well to get up late on in a slowly-run race.

He subsequently performed poorly enough after a slow start at Dundalk last time but given his preference for testing ground and his run-style, the race just didn't pan out for him on the night.

He's been given a 47-day break which will hopefully freshen him up and if he were to repeat his form at Navan on heavy ground or his handicap form through the summer then he can be a big player here.

He's definitely worth an each-way bet at the morning prices.

The second Sunday selection comes in the third race and I think INSINUENDO is really interesting dropping into Listed grade.

This filly was third last year to Emily Upjohn on Champions Day at Ascot, having run in the Opera on this weekend 12 months ago.

This year she's had a Group 3 win over a mile on testing ground at the Curragh and was third to Just Beautiful there in May.

Last time out in the Blanford Stakes, returning from a break, she definitely performed better than her finishing position (seventh) suggests, having been trapped very wide on the track throughout.

On the back of that effort, she drops back in grade here and although the trip could on the short side, I'm hoping the ground will offset that and she could just be a different class to her rivals here.
