Timeform highlight two horses of interest at Newcastle this evening.
KING'S SCHOOL - 18:30 Newcastle
KING'S SCHOOL proved unsuited by the drop in trip when fourth in a six-furlong handicap here on Tuesday but he still looked to be in good form and should benefit from stepping back up to seven furlongs.
King's School had been runner-up on his four previous starts over this course and distance and looked unlucky not to win when narrowly denied on his penultimate start.
King's School charged home alone near the stand rail but couldn't quite get on terms with an old rival who had been better positioned towards the far side where the action developed. He can gain a deserved success.
THUNDERSTORM KATIE - 19:00 Newcastle
THUNDERSTORM KATIE shaped better than the bare result when fourth in a six-furlong handicap here in October on her first start for Jim Goldie (previously with Brian Toomey) and she also caught the eye despite finishing down the field at Musselburgh last time.
Thunderstorm Katie was taken off her feet on her first attempt at five furlongs but she made good late headway to be beaten only three lengths.
She will benefit from stepping up in trip here to seven furlongs and should still have more to offer for this yard.
