WATCH: Hennessy - bet365 Gold Cup Handicap Chase, 2009

Often overlooked when it comes to AP McCoy's all-time great rides, Hennessy looked dead and buried in terms of winning the race but just kept grinding away under the Champ who still had a lot to do in fourth jumping the last fence. It was desperate stuff on the run-in but Ferdy Murphy's horse had the late momentum and got up in the shadow of the post to win by a neck.

WATCH: Tidal Bay - bet365 Gold Cup Handicap Chase, 2012

Three-time Grade One winner Tidal Bay kicked really off his Paul Nicholls renaissance with this exceptional handicap performance under top weight. Held up as usual early on, he was still on the bridle three from the finish and sauntered away after the final fence to win by 15 lengths under Daryl Jacob.

WATCH: Sprinter Sacre - bet365 Celebration Chase, 2016

The end of an extraordinary season as the curtain also came down on Sprinter Sacre's career. The great horse had been resurrected by Nicky Henderson and the Seven Barrows team and went to Sandown on the back of an unforgettable performance to regain the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham the previous month. He wasn't far off peak form again, making it a winning swansong by 15 lengths from Un De Sceaux, who blundered badly at the third-last.

WATCH: Menorah - bet365 Oaksey Chase, 2017

Not quite at the same level but Menorah also retired with honours after claiming his fourth Oaksey Chase on the spin. The race's position in the calendar can really suit some horses and few have really come to live at the fixture quite like Philip Hobbs' terrific horse. He'd won it by 17 lengths as a nine-year-old in 2014 and was arguably just as impressive here in giving Traffic Fluide 10lb and a four and a half-length beating.

WATCH: Altior - bet365 Celebration Chase, 2019

Altior has made the Celebration Chase his own, winning the last three editions of the race. Last year he wasn't at his very best but made it 19 jumps wins in a row with a typically tenacious victory after briefly looking in trouble when Sceau Royal challenged after jumping the last.
