It's a decent Flat card at Killarney this afternoon, despite the O'Brien runners being taken out, and there's some interesting stuff in the context of the day.
In the 2.25, Jim Bolger's TEJANO is worth an interest.
I expect it to be riding proper soft ground despite there being a bit of yielding in the description. She's down in trip here which might not look ideal on the face of it, but on this ground it could work out well.
On her last two runs I thought she might be worth a try over a mile on soft ground, and her Galway debut on soft to heavy last season was quite encouraging, as was the third at Gowran (good) last month.
This is an average maiden and while the favourite Simply A Breeze is rated 99 and probably going to be hard to beat, I'm happy to oppose her in these conditions at the prices.
The Bolger yard has really picked up a lot lately too, which is a massive plus.
And in the 2.55, Sheer Bravado could take all the beating again. It's just a 24-hour turnaround and he could be well handicapped, but I'm prepared to take him on with number 10, MYRCELLA.
She finally got off the mark over this course and distance on her penultimate start on soft to heavy ground. She had a tough passage at the Curragh when dropped to seven furlongs last time, while that was nine days after the win here and may have come too soon.
She's had a break now and while she's run well on good ground, she also has some really solid efforts on heavy to her name too and, crucially, she's only run twice at a mile and she won one of those starts. The price at 20/1 and bigger seems really big.
I've no strong selection-wise on the Arc de Triomphe but everyone is hoping Enable can go and achieve it. It would be a fitting end to her career and the sportsmanship of connections throughout has been something else.
To be honest, it would be ironic to be beaten by stablemate Stradivarius and he does look a genuine danger all things considered.
Jean-Claude Rouget sounds bullish about Sottsass and at Leopardstown I didn't think he looked totally there fitness-wise. He's had a typical French preparation in a way and could be the one.
I'm hearing from the weighing room there it's really testing and it sounds like with the way the weather is today it's going to end up very holding, sticky ground by this afternoon so that's not going to be ideal for many of them, including Enable.
