There are a couple of divisions of a fascinating stayers' handicap which close the card at Navan on Tuesday and they could prove to be pointers towards more valuable races with the likes of Galway around the corner.

However, I'm happy to sit tight and watch them for clues, with the only fancy on the card coming in the very first race.

The Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Fillies Maiden might not contain a star and it should really represent a good opportunity for the Joseph O'Brien-trained DENSE STAR.

She ran on the opening day of the season when fourth to More Beautiful, who was a shade disappointing at Royal Ascot, but this filly ran with considerable promise.

She was drawn in stall 18 and struggled to get into the race but ran on well in the final furlong.

The fifth, Johnny Murtagh's Measure Of Magic, won a maiden at Tipperary the other day, while Joseph's tend to improve a lot for a run. She now goes into maiden auction company and rates a really strong fancy.
