ACCIDENTAL AGENT
He has been gelded and looks a million dollars. He’s really sweet and working well. We’re hoping the Lockinge is on if not he’ll touch wood go straight to the Queen Anne. I’m really pleased with the old boy.
BELLA VITA
She’s done really well. She got a little stiff towards the end of last season but had done a lot of running and we gave her plenty of time off. She came back in January and is ready to go. We’ll look for some mile-and-a-half plus Listed and Group races for her.
BUCKINGHAM
Won at Lingfield in May and think he was a little unlucky afterwards. He just went over the top by the end but is back and working well. He’s really grown and strengthened over the winter and I’m hoping for a nice four-year-old campaign with him.
COSMIC POWER
Won at Ascot as a two-year-old and will hopefully improve again at three.
FEARLESS WARRIOR
He likes quicker ground and a trip. He did well on the all-weather through the autumn but I think he should progress again on the turf. He just gallops and we’d like to pick up a half-decent handicap with him with a bit of luck.
GAMBON
He was a bit quirky last year but has a lot of ability and seems to have mentally thrived over the winter. He’s grown up and hopefully the best is yet to come from him.
GIN PALACE
He feel like he’s improved and looks likes he’s improved but it could be we’ve got to the top of his handicap mark after a successful 2019. If he has improved he’ll win again – if not the handicapper will have to help him. I think there’s more races in him but at what level I don’t know.
GORING
A legend. I’ve kept him in training because I think they might go to Lingfield on the all-weather a fair bit when we do resume. He’s clearly better on the all-weather than he is on the turf and wins in his turn.
GRACEFUL MAGIC
She’s improved. She was second in a Group Three behind Rose Of Kildare at Ayr on her final start and we might look at one of the trials with her and see if we can pick up a Group race along the way. She’s been working nicely and only ever does enough, which is all she’s ever done, so we’ll see.
HMS PRESIDENT
Won well at the backend at Newcastle and is another who has grown and done well over the winter. I’m hoping for a nice campaign with him. We’re not sure how far he can go – hopefully it might be quite a long way.
HYANNA
She’s probably a bit high in the handicap and if we could pick up some Black Type with her that would be great. We do have the option of going back down the handicapping route and will see how we get on.
ICE AGE
He sort of missed last season a bit. He’s won nearly every year he’s been racing and done us proud and he must have come down about 20 pounds in the ratings from his last win. I hope he’s on the right side of the handicap now.
KWELA
Did well on the all-weather and we took the opportunity to give her a break. She’s coming back in soon for a couple of runs on turf and see how we go before switching back to the all-weather.
PUNCHBOWL FLYER
Won at Brighton this year and looks like he might make up into a decent handicapper this time around.
SPECIAL SECRET
Nice filly. Probably a sprinting type although she might get a bit further. She goes nicely.
SWORD BEACH
A very consistent two-year-old who deserved his win at York on his last start. He toughed it out, will get further and I hope there’s a bit of improvement in him.
TWO-YEAR-OLDS
I’m really pleased with them, I think they’re a lovely bunch. I keep telling myself it’s doing them the world of good not going too early…well it makes me feel better about it anyway!
