Handicaps with double-figure runners are always tough to predict, but for some reason I continue to take the challenge and am doing so again here. Over half the field have won over this distance, as well as a couple who have untapped potential at the trip. William Sayle won over the extended mile at Wolverhampton before finding an extra two furlongs too far last month and can't be ignored especially coming from a strong stable. Miracle Garden won a six furlong handicap well three starts back before coming very close twice here off this mark over seven furlongs. The drop in grade and step up in trip should see him go close. The one I'm drawn too though is the hat-trick seeking DREAMING TIME. She won a fillies' maiden at the start of the year for Hugo Palmer and has since changed stables to James Tate where she has shown plenty of improvement. She's notched up a double in recent starts and has only been raised 2lb for the latest success. That came over seven furlongs and she's now back up to her favoured trip. She enjoys the polytrack (won twice from three starts) and is in the right half of the draw to be very competitive, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see her go in again.

The first division of this class 6 ran over a mile and a quarter doesn't look the strongest of events, especially as there's only a couple who have shown anything over the distance. Power Up is one of only two distance winners in the race and has switched yards after three awful runs and although back on a winning mark, she will need to find major improvement to be winning this. Never Folding is still a maiden after 10 defeats, however the latest second here over a mile at the start of the month was more encouraging and the step up in trip may suit, but at the prices is passed over with MASTER OF HEAVEN. All three of his career wins have come over this distance, two of which have been at this track. Jim Boyle's four-year old wasn’t beaten far the last twice, both over course and distance and has now conveniently slipped to a mark of 48, one pound lower than his highest winning mark. I'd be even more confident if he wasn't drawn widest, but against this modest field that shouldn't thwart his chances and I feel he's the one to beat.
