This novice chase is a cracking little event for an evening summer jumps card.

I'm a big fan of  Townshend, he's a nippy and enthusiastic jumper who is on the improve. He's likely to get a soft time of things up front and will put pressure on the rest of the field's fencing.

Connections will be hoping he jumps his rivals ragged and notches up another victory and I can't see Potter's Point reversing form with him.

I feel at the weights though it's worth having a little investment on Joseph O'Brien's LANDOFHOPEANDGLORY.

The most talented horse in the field with the most scope, he has the best form of these over hurdles and the size to make into a chaser.

The worry is it his first time over fences against a terrier like Townshend on a sharp track. The thing that sways me to have a punt on him today is the amount of weight he receives from his closest rival in the betting.

The first quarter of the race is very important as his jumping will need to be sharp to keep tabs with Townshend but if he does, I expect class to tell and am willing to have a small investment at 7/4.

Peregrine Run may want better ground and a bit further while Aspen Colorado could run better than his odds suggests.
