Ambre Des Marais is an improving sort and has the physique which suggests he can continue his upward surge. He did well to win what was a slowly-run race last time out when held up off the pace, but with another hike in the weights and in a better race I'm willing to take him on at 7/4.
Scrutinise was a lofty 86,000 guineas purchase last October and connections must have thought initially novice hurdles would be a penalty kick for this talented son of Intense Focus. He has been bitterly disappointing on all his starts considering his Flat rating is in the mid-90s. He enters handicaps off a lowly National Hunt mark of 105 and if connections have found the key to him he could be blot on the handicap.
That being said there are doubts about the above pair, and the horse who I feel is worth chancing against them at a price is BEALLANDENDALL.
He was rated in the high 120s a year ago and has been on the decline since last summer, to the extent that he gets in here off 108. His last run was off a break and although beaten a long way it wasn't too bad a performance as he may have needed that run. I'm hoping he strips fitter and if he can reignite that engine he showed last year, 11/1 looks big enough.
