Bob Baffert pleased with Arrogate after shock loss

Bob Baffert believes that Arrogate is 'back to his old self' after the 13/8 Breeders' Cup Classic favourite worked at Del Mar.

The world's highest rated horse suffered a shock defeat in the San Diego Handicap at odds of 1/20 leaving connections stunned.

However, Baffert believes the son of Unbridled's Song is now giving out the right signals after he worked over seven furlongs at Del Mar.

"It was a serious work," Baffert told www.bloodhorse.com.

"He didn't need much encouragement. He's showing no signs (of regressing). He's moving forward. I've seen a big difference in him since that last race. He's back to his old self again."

Baffert is set to work Arrogate again next week as he completes the final preparations ahead of the TVG Pacific Classic that is set to be his final start before the Breeders' Cup Classic.
