The country was celebrating the news of a royal baby on Monday, with Prince Harry and Meghan expecting an arrival in spring 2019.
With the news being talked about across the kingdom, Sky Bet’s traders have responded by pricing up the potential names for the new royal.
The baby of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be seventh in the line for the throne, moving ahead of the Duke of York, who will be relegated down to eighth.
Harry and Meghan’s marriage in May was watched by an audience of 18 million in the UK, with similar numbers expected to be glued to their televisions when the baby arrives.
Arthur leads the market should it be a boy, with Sky Bet price boosting the odds from 12/1 to 16/1.
Prince William and Kate Middleton gave their child, Prince Louis, the middle name of Arthur Charles, with the latter available at 100/1.
Victoria is enhanced to 18/1 from 14/1, leading the market in girl’s names. That would make her the first royal named Victoria since Queen Victoria, who died in 1901.
Alice, the name of one of Victoria’s children, is also a favourite at 12/1 – and given the arrival expected in the spring and Alice’s birth on 25 April 1843 – they could opt for her to share the name.
Diana, Edward and Elizabeth are at 16/1, with Emily and Grace available at 20/1.
For fans of the show Game of Thrones, Joffrey – who is a prince and then becomes king – is available as a huge outsider at 500/1.
11/2 is available on the individual weekday that the baby will be born, while four-hour intervals for time of birth can be backed at 9/2.
