Canadian Grand Prix: Predictions, odds, race time, TV channel, track guide & latest F1 standings

All the key details ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, including big-race betting tips from our 'Pit-lane insider', the full weekend race schedule and start times, a selection of statistics, a track guide, the latest odds and standings.

The 2017 Formula One bandwagon heads to Montreal's Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve this weekend for the Canadian Grand Prix, which takes place on Sunday, June 11.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel extended his lead in the championship to 25 points over Lewis Hamilton following his third victory of the season in Monaco last time out but his title rival will be hungry to bounce back at a track where he's triumphed on five occasions - and he'll start Sunday's race on pole position.

Only Michael Schumacher - with seven - has won this race more times than Hamilton, who is also bidding for his third consecutive Canadian GP triumph.

Here, we bring you our prediction from our 'Pit-Lane Insider' while we also have the full weekend race schedule, results, key statistics, track guide, the latest odds and the current standings for the driver and constructors championships.

Canadian Grand Prix: Sky Bet Odds

PRICE BOOST: Hamilton to win and set the fastest lap of the race - 5/2 from 2/1

Lewis Hamilton is 8/11 favourite to win his sixth Canadian Grand Prix after snatching pole position from title rival Sebastian Vettel.

The Mercedes driver, who has won in Montreal on the last two occasions, is 1/5 to finish on the podium and 5/4 to set the fastest lap.

Vettel is 25 points clear at the top of the standings but he's 13/8 second favourite to triumph from second on the grid, 1/4 to finish on the podum and 15/8 to set the fastest lap.

Valtteri Bottas is the only other driver to have won a Grand Prix this season and you can back Hamilton's Mercedes team-mate to pick up his second success at 10/1 and 8/13 to finish in the top three.

Kimi Raikkonen is 18/1 for the race win and 8/11 for a podium place.

Red Bull duo Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo are big outsiders at 40/1 and 100/1 to take the chequered flag on Sunday but their odds of 100/30 and 7/1 to make the top three may interest some punters.

Canadian Grand Prix: Betting preview

(Written before the practice sessions) Our ‘Pit-Lane Insider’ provides his thoughts and best bets for this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix.

It has been a long time coming but this could be the weekend Ferrari finally return to the top the podium in Montreal.

Michael Schumacher was the last winner for the Prancing Horse at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve 13 years ago, but now championship leader Sebastian Vettel heads into Sunday’s race with the weight of expectation on his shoulders.

The German’s victory in Monaco has seen him extend his lead over title rival and three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton to 25 points after six rounds of the championship.

But such was the Scuderia’s domination on the streets of Monte Carlo that Hamilton’s Mercedes team this week admitted the Italian giants are now the favourites to win the title, although this isn’t a view echoed by the bookies.

That said, the Silver Arrows, winner of the last three Constructors’ Championships, are now 17 points behind Ferrari and another defeat this weekend will leave them with some serious questions to answer.

The key in Canada, a circuit which Hamilton has won on five occasions, is whether he will be able to get on top of the tyre temperature issues that have plagued two of his last three outings.

Sky Bet can’t spilt the pair in the betting. Hamilton does have a habit of bouncing back after a poor performance and has an outstanding record in Montreal, but the sensible choice is to go with the man in form on a circuit which will suit the Ferrari – back Vettel to win at 11/8.

Another driver in form is Haas’ Romain Grosjean who can’t be ignored on a track he secured a podium finish in 2012.

Backed by the same Ferrari engine as Vettel, there’s value in backing the Frenchman at 5/4 to finish in the points for the third race in a row after encouraging displays in Spain and Monaco.

It’s the 50th anniversary of Formula One in Canada this weekend and it would be fitting for a strong showing from Lance Stroll in his debut home race.

It has been a real struggle for the 18-year-old rookie after a lacklustre start to his career, where he has been one second slower than his Williams team-mate Felipe Massa.

It would be a fairy-tale story for Stroll to secure his maiden points finish on his home track, but the breaking issues that have plagued Williams this season will come back to bite him once more on a circuit full of heavy breaking zones. Sorry Lance but another DNF seems likely.

Suggested bets:

Race Winner:  Sebastian Vettel – 11/8

Not to be classified:  Lance Stroll – 11/10

Points finish:  Romain Grosjean – 5/4

Canadian Grand Prix: Statistics & Facts

* Championship leader Sebastian Vettel's victory in Monaco was Ferrari's first at the principality in 16 years.

* Indeed Vettel's team-mate Kimi Raikkonen followed the German home as Ferrari recorded their first one-two finish in 130 races.

* Raikkonen, who started on pole in Monaco, also led the opening lap of a race for the first time since the 2008 French Grand Prix.

* Lewis Hamilton managed only seventh in Monaco while team-mate Valtteri Bottas crossed the line in fourth. It brought to an end Mercedes' 21-race podium streak which is the fourth longest in the sport's history.

* Hamilton, 25 points behind Vettel in the title race, will take some encouragement by his previous form in Canada. Only Michael Schumacher (seven) has won more times than Hamilton's five race victories here.

* This race 10 years ago marked Hamilton's first victory in the sport. He has won gone on to win a further 54 races leaving him second, behind Schumacher, on the all-time list.

* Four other current drivers have won in Montreal; Raikkonen (2005), Fernando Alonso (2006), Vettel (2013) and Daniel Ricciardo (2014).

* Five of the last 10 winners at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve have come from pole position, with Hamilton achieving the feat in 2007, 2010, 2015, and 2016 and Vettel in 2013.

* McLaren are unlikely to trouble the top step of the podium this weekend, but they are the most successful constructor at the Canadian Grand Prix with 13 victories. Ferrari, who last won in Canada in 2004, have triumphed on 11 occasions.
