All the key details ahead of the British Grand Prix, including the full weekend race schedule, start times and TV coverage, a selection of statistics, a track guide, the latest odds and standings plus our big-race betting tips from the 'Pit-lane insider'.

Lewis Hamilton is chasing his fourth successive British Grand Prix victory at Silverstone this Sunday (July 16) - and boy does he need it as he now trails Sebastian Vettel by 20 points in what is becoming a thrilling Formula One title battle.

The Mercedes driver, who also took the chequered flag here in 2008, will join joint record holders Jim Clark and Alain Prost on five career British Grand Prix wins should he triumph once again this weekend - as well as becoming the most successful driver in Silverstone's history - but he'll be far more concerned with closing the gap on his Ferrari rival.

But don't rule out Hamilton's team-mate Valtteri Bottas following his second win of the season in Austria last time out or Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo.

British Grand Prix: Betting preview

Our ‘Pit-Lane Insider’ provides his thoughts and best bets for this weekend’s British Grand Prix and can’t see beyond another Lewis Hamilton victory.

Lewis Hamilton needs an inspired drive at his much-loved Silverstone to get his title tilt back on track.

The wheels have literally come off for the Briton in the last month and he is in serious danger of letting title rival Sebastian Vettel run away with things in the race for the world title.

The three-time champion finished fourth in Austria and has only had one podium finish in the past four races.

That win in Canada was proceeded by a seventh-placed finish in Monaco, with fifth the best he could manage in Baku after his well-publicised collision with Vettel cost him certain victory.

A gearbox penalty, brake-disc failure and a poor qualifying lap meant he finished in fourth at the Red Bull Ring last week but needs so much more than that as he aims for a fifth British Grand Prix win.

Four-time winner on home spoil Nigel Mansell believes Hamilton has to win this weekend or face and uphill battle to rein in Ferrari’s Vettel, who is now 20 points clear in the race for the title, and I agree but expect him to do just that at odds of 10/11.

He’s won the last three races in front of his home fans and has a real habit of bouncing back when things are going against him. The care is certainly able to do it and the motivation as well.

After all the bad press on the future of Silverstone, the one thing you can expect is a storming performance from Hamilton after all the disappointments in Austria.

I’m so confident the 32-year-old Mercedes driver will respond, I’m prepared to put all my eggs in one basket and back him to complete the hat-trick (win, pole and fastest lap) and complete the perfect weekend.

Hamilton did return for this column last week when he recorded the fastest lap in Spielberg and, with his Silverstone record second to none the hat-trick, is certainly the value bet of the weekend at 5/2.

My final pick is a bit of long-shot but I’m taking the plunge on Jolyon Palmer to complete a British clean sweep.

The Renault driver has had a torrid season and is yet to finish in the points this season, but has recorded 11th-place finish in two of his last three races, having changed his driving style to replicate that of team-mate Nico Hulkenberg.

If he uses that same approach in his home race he could go at least one place better at a terrific price of 13/2.

Suggested bets:

Race winner: Lewis Hamilton – 10/11

Hat-trick (win, pole, fastest lap):  Lewis Hamilton – 5/2

Points finish: Jolyon Palmer – 13/2

British Grand Prix: Sky Bet Odds

Lewis Hamilton is 10/11 favourite to win his fourth successive British Grand Prix - and a record-equalling fifth in total - as he looks to keep the pressure on Sebastian Vettel in the title race.

The Mercedes driver is 8/15 to take pole position and 1/5 to finish on the podium - although he failed to do either - or indeed win - in Austria last time out.

Vettel, who holds a 20-point lead over Hamilton, is 11/4 to take the chequered flag at Silverstone, 9/2 to take pole and 2/7 to finish on the podium while Valtteri Bottas is 9/2, 100/30 and 8/15 in those respective markets.

Red Bull duo Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo can be backed at 14/1 and 16/1 respectively to grab glory but they are deemed unlikely to be the fastest qualifiers at 22/1 and 25/1. Verstappen and Ricciardo are both 12/5 for a podium spot.

Vettel's Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen is 33/1 to win the race, 25/1 to take pole and 4/1 to finish on the podium.

British Grand Prix statistics & facts

Valtteri Bottas became only the fourth Finnish driver to win more than one grand prix after he stormed to victory in Austria last Sunday.

Keke Rosberg, Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikkonen are the other Finnish multiple winners - and they all went on to win world championships, too. Bottas meanwhile, is now just 15 points behind Lewis Hamilton in this year's championship battle.

Hamilton, 20 points adrift of championship leader Sebastian Vettel, failed to finish on the podium for a second race in succession last time out. It marked the first occasions in more than three years that the Briton has not finished inside the top three at successive races.

Hamilton however, has a strong record at Silverstone having won here for the past three years. Indeed Hamilton can emulate Britain's double world champion Jim Clark by winning the British Grand Prix on four consecutive occasions with victory on Sunday.

The Mercedes driver, who opened his Silverstone winning account in 2008, can also match Clark and Alain Prost as only the third driver to win in Britain on five occasions.

The future of the British Grand Prix has been plunged into doubt after Silverstone's owners triggered a release clause in its contract - but this year's event marks the 68th British Grand Prix. Indeed it is one of only two ever-present races on the world championship calendar. The other being the Italian Grand Prix.

Silverstone has staged the British Grand Prix exclusively since 1987. Aintree held the race on five occasions while Brands Hatch was the home of the popular race for 12 years.

Since the Silverstone track layout changed back in 2011, the pole-sitter has only won twice (Hamilton; 2015, 2016). Hamilton won from the furthest back after starting sixth in 2014.
