The former England defender was handed the reins by Steve Gibson in the summer, as permanent replacement for Tony Pulis after narrowly missing out on the play-offs.
They finished seventh and just a point adrift of Derby, but the hierarchy at the Riverside felt a change was needed and Woodgate, after biding his time and learning in a coaching capacity at the club for two years, was appointed on a three-year deal.
Woodgate is a boyhood Middlesbrough fan and knows the enormity of the task in hand, but he is not afraid of shirking challenges and feels he is ready for the challenge.
In Woodgate's chat with former Crystal Palace and QPR boss Holloway, he discusses:
- Getting the job and adapting with all the responsibilities as manager
- Settling into the position
- Lessons learnt from managers in his playing career
- Balancing his role with family life
- Planning for the long run - with the Premier League in mind
- ...and much more, including midfielder Adam Clayton's view
