Liverpool v Man City highlights: Look back at recent matches as Pep Guardiola has failed to win at Anfield

Re-live the last four contests between the Liverpool and Man City at Anfield - where Pep Guardiola has yet to win with his City side.

"It's a bugger of a ground," is the polite translation of an interview with Guardiola with Catalonian outlet Ara.

They won back-to-back league titles but you just know the Spaniard will be desperate to finally crack the Kop and get three points at Anfield - where he's got just one draw from the last four trips.

City's record at Anfield isn't great to say the least, but it's a surprise that Guardiola hasn't yet put that straight and won at least once. A Champions League humbling even forced a change of tactics last season, when City went far more conservatively to try and stem the tide.

They should have won that game, but for a late penalty miss from Riyad Mahrez, and this year Guardiola will be desperate to go one step further. He knows, though, that Anfield is a special place to play.

"The motto "This is Anfield" is no marketing spin," he added.

"There's something about it that you will find in no other stadium in the world. They score a goal and over the next five minutes you feel that you'll receive another four. You feel small and the rival players seem to be all over."

Highlights: Liverpool FC 0-0 Manchester City | Reds and City goalless at Anfield

Riyad Mahrez blazing the ball almost into Stanley Park from 12 yards is the endearing memory from an otherwise forgettable encounter - a rare dud among the thrilling contest we usually witness.

Mahrez missed an opportunity to seal City's first victory at Anfield since 2003 when missing an 85th-minute penalty. Leroy Sane was fouled by Liverpool's Virgil Van Dijk , with Mahrez taking the spot-kick as usual penalty-taker Sergio Aguero had been substituted. Mahrez's failure to convert resulted in the first goalless draw between the two sides since 1986, while the clean sheet was City's first at Anfield since then.

Liverpool 3-0 Man City: Champions League Highlights (Salah, Mané, Oxlade-Chamberlain)

Liverpool swept City aside with a convincing 3-0 victory in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at Anfield. Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane all struck inside the opening 31 minutes.

The victory was soured, however, by an attack on City's team bus by Liverpool supporters ahead of the game. Fireworks, bottles and cans were thrown at the City coach as it arrived at Anfield, with the subsequent damage severe enough to require the visitors to travel home in a replacement vehicle.

Inside Anfield: Liverpool 4-3 Man City | Unseen tunnel cam from seven-goal thriller

Liverpool dealt City their first Premier League defeat of the 2017-18 season when edging them in a seven-goal thriller at Anfield.

Oxlade-Chamberlain's early goal was cancelled out by Leroy Sane, but then Roberto Firmino, Mane and Salah all struck within nine minutes of one another to put Liverpool in charge. City fought back, but late goals from Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan were not enough to claw back the deficit.

Inside Anfield: Liverpool 1-0 Man City | TUNNEL CAM | Stranger Things star ELEVEN at Anfield

An early goal from Georginio Wijnaldum secured Liverpool a 1-0 victory over City when the two clubs met on New Year's Eve in 2016. Wijnaldum headed home after just eight minutes to hand Liverpool the lead and City had no response.
