Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane tore into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side after a dismal display in their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford.
It was the Norwegian's 100th game at the wheel and comes days after their shock 5-0 thrashing of RB Leipzig in the Champions League, but Keane was having none of it.
"A huge disappointment.," Keane said on Sky Sports when asked for his initial response to Sunday's loss to Mikel Arteta's side.
"People were thinking United turned a corner...I was never kidded on by that. No energy. No enthusiasm. You make it a long day for yourself."
The Irishman continued: "Where do you want me to start? A lack of energy, of enthusiasm, and a real lack of quality. That really concerned me. No quality, no composure."
The Gunners' visit was the third match of the week at Old Trafford and this fixture was shaping up to be more like United’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea than the midweek win over Bundesliga outfit Leipzig.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 69th minute after Pogba made a penalty-box challenge on Bellerin that was as clumsy as it was needless.
Referee Mike Dean pointed to the spot and Aubameyang coolly sent De Gea the wrong way from the spot as Arsenal held on for their first Premier League win at Old Trafford in 14 years.
Keane was critical of what he saw as a lack of energy, enthusiasm and quality from United, and singled out Rashford for “shocking” body language.
"Some of the performances were really poor. Have they turned a corner? It's the longest corner ever. I am just not convinced by these players.
"I looked at Rashford closely today. His body language today was shocking. Shrugging his shoulders when things weren’t going his way. You roll your sleeves up at Man United.
“Things aren’t going your way, that’s when you look at your leaders. I don’t see any leaders out there right through the whole team.
“It’s a real worry for United now. A lack of energy, lack of enthusiasm and real lack of quality, no composure, some of the performances were really really poor. We saw United players tonight taking the easy option. It’s a long, long way back for this club.
“These guys have a big responsibility playing for Manchester United and they have to do better. I don't see men out there. I don't see guys who you want to be in the trenches with, guys you would trust.
"Manchester United are not aggressive enough, they are not hungry enough. This team is nowhere near good enough."
Roy's rant...
What Gary Neville said...
"There are more problems than solutions. You have six midfield players at the club: Nemanja Matic, Fred, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Donny Van de Beek and Paul Pogba and you've somehow got to get them into a system, which is forcing Ole to play a diamond.
"I think there was an element today of him thinking he could just put four players in that diamond and it would work after what happened in midweek but McTominay on the right-hand side wasn't working after five minutes.
" You have to be comfortable moving out into that wide area; Wan-Bissaka's already a bit awkward on the ball at right-back so you need someone to balance it and the balance on the right is a real problem for United. When Greenwood went off it was even worse. They wanted Jadon Sancho obviously to play on that side and it looks like a real bad error in not getting that position recruited."
