1725: Let’s talk about Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman was among the most sought after targets last summer but, despite scoring another 37 goals and having his move to Atletico Madrid fall through, he has barely been linked to the Premier League this summer.

The striker has been discussing the broken down move and hardly sounds heartbroken, telling Eurosport: “The decision did not turn me upside down, life goes on."

The prospect of a January move to the Spanish capital, when their transfer ban will be lifted, is now thought of as most likely, but it seems strange that neither Arsenal or Liverpool have pounced on Atleti’s misfortune.

Both lacked a prolific out-and-out striker in their failed title tilts, with Alexis Sanchez and Philippe Coutinho their respective top goalscorers despite operating in deeper roles.

Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi have all shown they all lack the consistency to score prolifically, while Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp both have hefty budgets this summer, so why are they not pursuing the Frenchman?

Maybe they are, but if so both the news gatherers and the bookies are relatively unaware, with Arsenal 3/1 followed by Liverpool at 4/1 to secure his services.

More importantly, Lacazette is not aware of any interest, adding: “The Premier League is a beautiful championship with interesting teams. But, for now, these are just rumours.”

So to two managers who have been all too shy in splashing the cash on seasoned strikers, make your move!

1650: Newcastle are closing in on the season-long loan signing of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, according to Sky sources.

Abraham netted goals aplenty for Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship last season but it's always a tough step up to the Premier League.

1505: Further to our previous Romelu Lukaku update, the Belgian has given  some slightly less cryptic quotes to Sky Sports News HQ.

"My agent knows what's going to happen and I know as well," he said.

"I'm staying calm and we have an agreement with the club as well. We stay calm and at least we have a direction where we want to go.

"I'm just going to rest for a few days and then just prepare for next season. I want to put the time in on my holiday to take everything to another level and be better than I was last year."

The striker is currently on international duty and Belgian reports are suggesting he will be joining a Premier League side competing in the Champions League.

That has seen him shorten from 11/10 to 1/4 to join Chelsea, with Manchester United 4/1, while he has drifted out to 8/1 to remain at Everton.

1320: Is there a set of fans in world football that must hate transfer window time more than Southampton’s?

More specifically, supporters who hold more distain for approaches from Liverpool, with their club facing the prospect of losing a sixth star man to the Reds in three summers.

You’d have thought doing a £100m worth of business would aid relations between the clubs, but the St Mary’s outfit have thrown their toys out of the pram with Liverpool’s attempts to raise that total to £160m.

The £60m is reportedly what they are willing to pay for Virgil van Dijk, a move which has prompted Southampton to report Liverpool to the FA, according to Press Association.

The Reds are alleged to have overstepped the mark in their attempts to edge Manchester City the race to land the centre-back.

As we brought you yesterday, the Reds were backed in from 11/10 to 1/10 to land the Dutch centre-back amid suggestions that they were his preference, but have now drifted out very slightly to 1/7.

City are also in for Ryan Bertrand, with their odds on landing the left-back coming in from 11/10 to 2/7 today, in a full-back overhaul, with Kyle Walker even shorter odds to arrive at the Etihad.

In other Southampton reports, which won’t upset their fans nearly as much, Claude Puel’s future is in doubt, with the club considering potential replacements.

1310: A couple of done deals early this afternoon in Scotland.

Rangers have announced the signing of Benfica's Dalcio on a season-long loan and Hartlepool goalkeeper Trevor Carson has joined Motherwell on a three-year contract.

Back south in the Sky Bet Championship, it has been confirmed that Wolves loanee Andreas Weimann is returning to Derby.

1135: This move had been widely touted and now it's been confirmed that Arsenal will sign Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac when his contract expires this summer.

1130: Very interesting news from Press Association Sport as they understand Southampton have asked the Premier League to investigate an alleged illegal approach from Liverpool for Virgil van Dijk.

More on that to follow in this story.

1110: Christian Eriksen has been linked with Barcelona, kind of, but he's not in a rush to leave Tottenham.

"I have been there [at Barcelona] at some point and it was not very good," he told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.

"Barcelona are a great club and I do not think there are many who say no to Barcelona.

"But there is interest and there is definite interest. Before there is concrete interest, I have no opinion on it. There are always rumours about footballers. I still have a contract with Tottenham a few more years.

"In the future I see myself at the highest level. That's what I dream about. It can be about two to three years. It may be in another club or it could be Tottenham if we have come all the way up."

1030: Romelu Lukaku has reignited the guessing game over his future by revealing his agent knows “what is going to happen”.

The Everton striker, who scored 25 goals last season, has failed to agree a contract to his contract at Goodison Park, with Chelsea and Manchester United linked with securing his services.

A return to Stamford Bridge is considered most likely at 11/10 with United 2/1, while he is now 7/2 with Sky Bet to stay at Stamford Bridge.

A move abroad has largely been overlooked, with PSG interestingly priced at 12/1 despite being in the hunt for a striker, after struggling in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic last season.

Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen certainly hasn’t ruled out a move abroad, being quoted as saying: “I don’t think there are a lot of players who would say no to Barcelona”.

Reassuringly for Spurs fans, Barca are 7/1 to land the Dane this summer, with odds of 1/8 on him remaining it north London.

One man who is certainly on the move is Pepe, who has told Spanish radio he has “offer from England” after firing parting shots in the direction of Real Madrid.

PSG have been backed in to 1/4 to land the 34-year-old followed by Inter Milan (7/2), with Manchester United (10/1), Liverpool and Chelsea (both 33/1) considered the only Premier League suitors.

1000: Get the latest on Pepe's expected Real Madrid departure.

0945: Interesting comments from Romelu Lukaku to Sky Sports News: "My agent knows what is going to happen, I know what I want to do. Whatever happens, you guys (the media) will know."

That makes it sound like the Everton striker is on his way to a new club.

0845: On Monday we reported that former Russia boss Leonid Slutsky was a target of Hull as their replacement for Marco Silva. Well it appears the the Tigers are closing in on their man according to this morning's latest news.

0730: Welcome to Tuesday's edition of the Transfer Bulletin with the futures of Tottenham's Kyle Walker and Everton's Romelu Lukaku the two main talking points.

Reports in the Daily Star suggest Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is closing in on £40m deal for Walker, while Lukaku told Sky Sports News he knows where he will be playing his football next season.

Sky Bet make Chelsea the 11/10 favourites to land the Belgian striker with Manchester United 2/1 shots. Lukaku is a 7/2 punt to stay at Goodison Park next term.
