Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has found himself a new team after signing a three-year deal with Turkish side Trabzonspor.
The 29-year-old was a free agent after his contract at Anfield expired in the summer following a season where he made 29 appearances - mostly off the bench - with his last action being a late cameo in the 4-0 win over Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at Anfield.
Sturridge made a good start to the season with four goals in seven games, but was never going to get in ahead of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in Liverpool's front three and did not get a new contract.
Despite being linked with a move to MLS in America, he has opted to move to Turkey instead.
"We sign a three-year contract with the free agent footballer Daniel Sturridge, with a one-year option," said a statement on the Turkish club's website.
Sturridge spent six years at Liverpool, scoring 67 goals in 160 games for the Reds, but injuries consistently caused him to miss games and struggle to find his best form.
He formed a deadly partnership with Luis Suarez upon his arrival at Anfield but Jurgen Klopp never managed to see Sturridge at his best apart from cameo appearances.
Sturridge scored against PSG in their 3-2 Champions League group stage victory and also bagged a wonderful equaliser at Chelsea last September, which would fittingly be his last goal in a Liverpool shirt.
Having started his career at Manchester City, Sturridge joined Chelsea in 2009 before playing on loan at Bolton and then later on signing for Liverpool.
In July, Sturridge received a ban for breaching betting rules, but was free to play again on 31 July.
