Nick Hext brings you his selections for Saturday's action in the Sky Bet EFL, including Fulham tipped for a narrow win against Brentford.
Saturday evening's TV game
Fulham have moved above Cardiff to sit second in the Sky Bet Championship ahead of this weekend's round of matches. The Cottagers face a tricky encounter at home to local rivals Brentford on Saturday evening but I reckon they will be able to collect another important victory. Fulham have won 1-0 in both of their last two outings and Slavisia Jokanovic's men are keeping it tight in defence with no goals conceded in their previous four matches. Brentford are going for a fourth victory in a row but this is a step up in class and two of the last three defeats for Dean Smith's men have been by one goal. Get with Fulham for the narrow success.
Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet Championship selection
Under 2.5 goals in Nottingham Forest v Ipswich, Sky Bet Championship (Saturday, 1500 BST)
The Mick McCarthy era at Ipswich is over after his exit from Portman Road was confirmed moments after Tuesday night's 1-0 win at home to Barnsley. McCarthy leaves the Tractor Boys on the back of 14 of his last 17 matches coming in at under the 2.5 goals mark for punters. I'm sure it wasn't mentioned to him on the way out and it's hard to see a huge change of approach for Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest. All of Forest's previous six outings have come in at under 2.5 goals so it's a simple approach to go low on goals at the City Ground.
Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League One selection
Charlton to draw with Scunthorpe, Sky Bet League One (Saturday, 1500 BST)
It isn't too controversial to go for a draw when Scunthorpe are in Sky Bet League One action. The Iron have drawn in seven of their last nine matches to slip out of the play-off places and the pressure is on when they travel to promotion rivals Charlton on Saturday afternoon. Charlton sit sixth, in the final play-off spot courtesy of a superior goal difference to Portsmouth, and Lee Bowyer has been given the responsibility to take charge of the Addicks until the end of the season. There is only one point between these sides in the standings so my vote goes to the draw to keep the congested scrap for a top-six finish close in the third tier.
Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League Two selection
Lincoln to beat Port Vale, Sky Bet League Two (Saturday, 1500 BST)
Lincoln are feeling good as they prepare for Saturday afternoon's trip to Port Vale. The Imps beat Sky Bet League One promotion contenders Shrewsbury to win the Checkatrade Trophy final at Wembley last weekend and now the focus is on winning back-to-back promotions. Lincoln are sitting inside the League Two play-off places ahead of the next round of matches but work is still required to make sure of a top-seven finish. I don't expect a slip-up in the trip to Vale, who have only won one of their last 17 matches, so the advice is simple to get with Danny Cowley's Imps at odds-against for the victory.
