Sky Bet punter wins over £27k after a £10 football accumulator comes good!

One lucky Sky Bet football punter became over £27,000 richer on Saturday - but he needed Jack Rodwell's consolation goal deep into stoppage time to keep his £10 five-fold accumulator alive!

One of his five selections was Sheffield United to beat Sunderland with over 2.5 goals being scored in the Sky Bet Championship match but with three minutes of injury time played, the Blades were leading 2-0.

However, up popped Rodwell with what seemed to be a just a goal in vain for his team but one which had massive consequences for this particular punter.

In his three other picks in the 1500 BST kick-offs, he needed Chelsea to beat Leicester and over 2.5 goals, Brighton to beat West Brom and over 2.5 goals and Leeds to beat Burton with over 2.5 goals, and they all obliged thanks to 2-1, 3-1 and 5-0 scorelines.

So the bet rolled onto the Premier League's evening clash between Stoke and Manchester United, which needed to be a draw and over 2.5 goals being scored in the match.

When Romelu Lukaku put Manchester United 2-1 in front after 57 minutes, the Sky Bet punter desperately needed a Stoke equaliser and he got one just six minutes later when Maxim Choupo-Moting completed a fine brace with what proved to be the final goal of the 2-2 draw.

This came as a hammer blow to Sky Bet, who were already licking their wounds after their Soccer Saturday Price Boost of 6/1 landed!

Sky Bet enhanced the odds on a win treble involving Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham from 4/1 to 6/1 and it all went the punters way as they ran out winners over Bournemouth, Leicester and Everton respectively.
