PSG v Istanbul Basaksehir to finish on Wednesday after players walk off over alleged racist incident

PSG's home Champions League game with Istanbul Basaksehir will finish on Wednesday after it was suspended following an alleged incident of racism by the fourth official.

Players from both sides left the pitch in the 23rd minute during their final Group H fixture in Paris on Tuesday night.

The remainder of the game will be played on Wednesday at 1755 GMT with a new team of match officials, UEFA has announced.

Play was suspended when Basaksehir's assistant coach, former Cameroon striker Pierre Webo, was shown a red card in the 16th minute, after which the players refused to resume the game.

Video footage appears to show Webo accusing the fourth official of using racist language, and Basaksehir striker Demba Ba remonstrating with the fourth official on the touchline.

The former Chelsea forward vociferously questioned the official over his choice of language when referring to players before being ushered away.

After initially releasing a brief statement announcing the game would proceed with a replacement fourth official and that it would launch an investigation into the incident, UEFA announced plans for the match to continue on Wednesday.

"UEFA has - after discussion with both clubs - decided on an exceptional basis to have the remaining minutes of the match played tomorrow with a new team of match officials," a statement read.

"A thorough investigation on the incident that took place will be opened immediately."
