Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino says he has no influence over the Premier League club's transfers and believes his job title should be changed from manager to head coach to reflect this.
In a surprisingly open and honest post-match press conference following Spurs' 1-0 friendly win over Real Madrid Pochettino reiterated that he is only in charge of coaching his players and has no say in who comes in and out of the north London club.
When asked about the potential sale of Danny Rose Pochettino said: "I am not in charge, I know nothing about the situation of my players. I am only coaching them, trying to get the best from them."
England left-back Rose has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while Kieran Trippier has already left to join Atletico Madrid
Coming the other way, Tottenham broke their club record to sign Tanguy Ndombele, while winger Jack Clarke has also joined but returned immediately to Sky Bet Championship club Leeds United on loan for the season.
Pochettino continued: "These types of things, what will happen, what will not happen, selling and buying of players, extending contracts, not extending contracts, I think it is not in my hands. It is in the club hands, and Daniel Levy [Spurs' chairmain]. At the moment I am managing the team in the best way possible.
"Maybe the club need to change my title description, because my job now is to coach the team. It is not a question for me, it is a question for the club. Maybe the club are going to change my title description.
"Of course I am the boss, deciding the strategy to play, training, mentality, philosophy in my area, but in another area, I think I am the coach the coach."
