2019/20 Premier League fixtures released: Take a look at the big derby games and when they're being played in the new Premier League season

We take a look at when the big derby games and when they're being played in the new Premier League season after the 2019/20 fixtures were released.

They're the big games everyone wants to see and in the Premier League they're often the most exciting, enthralling and nerve-jangling for their respective fans.

Often the first games supporters look for, they're also the games the TV companies will be looking at to showcase the very best of the Premier League.

Take a look at the big derby games and when they'll be played next season...

Manchester City v Manchester United (Last season 3-1)

A comprehensive victory for the champions to make amends for defeat the previous season that delayed their Premier League title party. Along with Anfield it’s the big away day for Man Utd fans and they’ll hope they can give a much better account of themselves this time around.

Man Utd v Man City (Last season 0-2)

Along with their lifeless defeat at Anfield, this result, and performance, may have hurt more than any other for Man Utd fans last season – tempered only by the fact the three points City gained helped beat Liverpool in the race for the title.

They were completely outplayed though and no United fan wants to see them bullied the way they were at home by the city neighbours, they’ll surely be able to run City harder in what will be an eagerly-awaited rematch.

Arsenal v Tottenham (Last season 4-2)

It was a cracker at the Emirates last season with Sours going in ahead at the break only to fall apart in the second half with a powerful home comeback by the Gunners. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandra Lacazette both got on the scoresheet.

Tottenham had Jan Vertonghen sent off late on just for good measure.

Tottenham v Arsenal (Last season 1-1)

Harry Kane scored a late penalty to grab a point for Tottenham after Aaron Ramsey had given Arsenal an early lead at Wembley, and again there was a red card in this fixture with Lucas Torreira this time being sent off last on for the visitors.

This will be the best occasion of the season as the North London derby takes place at Tottenham’s fantastic new stadium for the first time – there’s no doubt this will be a big TV game.

Date: April 25 2020 - 1500 BST

Liverpool v Everton (Last season 1-0)

You’ll go a long way to witness a more incredible finish to any derby game than THAT goal Divock Origi scored in the dying seconds of the Merseyside derby in December. The Belgian nodded in after Jordan Pickford’s bizarre fumble to send the Kop, and Jurgen Klopp, crazy – with the manager later getting a smacked wrist for running onto the pitch in celebration.

Take that lucky goal away though, and it was an impressive performance from Everton who really impressed and looked like the better side for the majority of the game, but just couldn’t find a goal they perhaps deserved. The Origi goal will no doubt get a mention in the build-up…

Date: December 4 2019 - 2000 GMT

Everton v Liverpool (Last season 0-0)

If the Reds have Divock Origi’s goal to sing about, the Toffees will no doubt mention this largely forgettable but ultimately pivotal stalemate against their nearby rivals as this result late last season may just have cost Liverpool the title.

The game had the usual blood-and-thunder about it, if little quality, but Everton’s work-rate and desire made it an uncomfortable trip to Goodison Park where three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side may have been enough to win them the title.
